All eyes on us

Milan, Italy - April 2019

I gave disposable cameras to some friends that just got to Milan, and I asked them to picture what was different or strange around theme. I wanted them to try to  interpret visually the differences between here and the world they come from.

Famara comes from Gambia, Udjal, Shahalom and Myaray come from Bangladesh. Some other time they shooted moments with they friends, when they felt like it would have been valuable to have a pic of that moment, since they had a camera, even a disposable one it was different than with their phones.

All got the point with all the other photos they presented, using both the cameras and mobile too: all came up with phrases and expressions trying to explain to their friends what they were doing.

Our eyes are used only to our country so now we can photograph what is not like our country.

Unfamiliar things

Things I would never see in my country

Things you see if you are not from here

Things you can see if cameras were foreigners.

What my eyes is not used to.
